Under the present immigration law and policies, valid visas are always required for the ordinary passport holders of Pakistan visiting China for whatever purpose, although the Pakistanis are free of charge for China visa application. Holders of Pakistan diplomatic and official passports visiting China are exempt from visas.

The following documents and materials are required for mainland China visa application.

A. For Business/Conference Purpose:

1. Valid passport of the applicant.

2. Completely filled-up China visa application form.

3. Original visa notice from the authorized unit of China.

4. Invitation letter from the partner/sponsor of the applicant.

5. Income certificate or bank statement of the applicant.

6. Certificate of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Pakistan.

B. For Transit:

Original and photocopy of the valid visa of the destination country and of return /through ticket.

C. For Family-Visit:

1. For applicant visiting his/her Chinese spouse or relatives in China.

Notarization of spouse/relative relationship produced by a Chinese notary office and invitation letter from the relative in China or the marriage certificate (original and photocopy) of the applicant.

2. For applicant visiting Pakistani spouse or relatives in China.

Photocopy of the identification certificate of the inviter and invitation letter from the unit/school in which the inviter works/studies in China.

Individual tourist visa application for Pakistani passport holders is not acceptable under present policy. The Pakistani individual tourist can join a tourist group organized by the travel agencies.

Each application is considered on its own merits. The processing time normally takes 4 working days.
