Supplementary Notice of Temporary Instructions on Visa Application

According to the announcement issued by Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Immigration Administration of the People’s Republic of China on 23 September 2020, effective from 0 am., 28 September 2020, foreign nationals holding valid Chinese residence permits for work, personal matters and reunion are allowed to enter China with no need for applying for new visas. For other cases, foreign nationals shall apply relevant visas as per the following requirements:

I. If the above three categories of residence permits held by foreign nationals expired after 0 a.m., 28 March 2020, the holders shall apply for relevant visas by presenting the expired residence permits and relevant documents (please refer to Instructions on Application for Visa for China) to the Gerry’s Visa Center on the condition that the purposes of visiting China remain unchanged. The Invitation Letter (TE) or the Invitation Verification Form from the foreign affairs office or the commercial department of the Chinese provincial government are not required.

II. If the above three categories of residence permits held by foreign nationals expired before 0 a.m., 28 March 2020 or the purposes of visiting China are changed, the existing visa provisions shall continue to be implemented according to the Notice of Temporary Instructions on Visa Application issued on 1 September 2020.
