On November 19, Chinese Ambassador Sun Weidong attended the inaugural ceremony of Pakistan Education Association of Chinese Language, held in the University of Modern Language.  Major General Hasan, the president of the University, Mr. Mushahid, the chairman of Pak-China Institute, and teachers and students from the Confucius Institute in Islamabad were present.

In his speech, Ambassador Sun said, China would strengthen good-neighborly friendship with neighboring countries, and would strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation so that China's development could benefit more neighboring countries. Pakistan, as China's strategic partner, would benefit most from China's development. Language was an important bridge to promote friendly exchanges and pragmatic cooperation between China and Pakistan. The establishment of Chinese Education Association would help mobilize Chinese language teaching resources. 

Mushahid said that the establishment of Chinese Education Association was one of remarkable achievements over the past year in cultural exchanges, and he expected it would help promote bilateral relations to higher levels in the new year.
