China Cultural Week begins

(Pakistan Observer, Islamabad)To promote and provide a better understanding of Chinese culture, the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in collaboration with Pakistan National Council of Arts arranged an exhibition of photographs in connection with “Chinese Cultural Week” here on Friday, marking Chinese Cultural Week.

Foreign Minister, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, who was the chief guest at the ceremony said, the people of China and Pakistan want to promote their cultural traditions and interaction between the two neighbors.

Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Luo Zhaohui said that the week would help to promote and deepen the people to people contact between the two close friends. He thanked the Government of Pakistan for providing assistance to promote the cultural heritage of China.

Federal Minister for States and Frontier Regions, Najmuddin Khan said, the early Chinese paintings were religious oriented but now show real-life.

The ceremony concluded with the screening of a famous Chinese film “Hero”. It was based on a story almost 2500 years old. The film “Love” was also presented based on story of “Mao Mao”, a 16-year-old boy from a rich family who plays games on internet all the day.
