ISLAMABAD, Oct 2 (APP): President Asif Ali Zardari attended, as the chief guest, a grand reception hosted by Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Luo Zhaohui here on Friday night to celebrate the 60th anniversary of founding of the Peoples Republic of China.The Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, services chiefs, federal ministers, politicians, diplomats and elite of the federal capital attended the reception. President Zardari along with the Chinese Ambassador and other dignitaries cut a special cake to mark the occasion.

An enthralling cultural show and performance was presented by the Chinese troupe, which was highly lauded by the participants of the reception.

 

Pakistan, which enjoys time tested relations and friendship with China, has planned and organized a series of programmes including seminars, exhibitions etc. to celebrate the 60th anniversary of China.

Pakistan Post has issued a commemorative postage stamp of Rs.  five denomination in connection with the 60th anniversary of the Peoples Republic of China.

Pakistan Television arranged a special live marathon transmission on October 1, to commemorate the 60th founding anniversary of People’s Republic of China.

The International Islamic University hosted the launching ceremony of Pak China Institute; the first Think Tank on China in Pakistan in October 1.

A three day Photo Exhibition on “Glorious China” opened at the International Islamic University (IIU) on Wednesday, to mark the 60th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China.
