Ambassador Yao Jing paid a farewell call on President Dr.Arif Alvi

On September 22, the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing paid a farewell call on President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi.

Yao first conveyed President Xi Jinping's cordial greetings to President Dr. Arif Alvi, and thanked him for the great importance he attaches to China-Pakistan relations and his strong support for the work of the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan. Yao said the Chinese government and people cherish China-Pakistan relations and believe that under the guidance of the leaders of the two countries, China and Pakistan will build a closer community of shared future in a new era, and will make greater progress in building the "Belt and Road" Initiative and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

President Dr. Arif Alvi asked Yao to convey his good wishes to President Xi. He appreciated China's firm adherence to the foreign policy of peace, its commitment to promoting the building of a human community of shared future, and its great initiative of "Belt and Road" Imitative, stressing that China's strong development will make more important contributions to the maintenance of world peace and development. President Dr. Arif Alvi stated that China-Pakistan relations have withstood the test of international changes, and that the all-weather friendship and cooperation between the two countries have been further deepened in the process of jointly fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. Pakistan is grateful to China for its backing on issues related to Pakistan’s national security and sovereignty, and its long-term support in Pakistan’s economic and social development, and is willing to further promote the all-round and pragmatic cooperation with China to benefit the people of both countries and the region. He praised Yao 's contribution to bilateral relations during his tenure and noted that the decision to award him "Hilal-e-Pakistan" is a recognition of his service and the importance Pakistan attaches to the Pakistan-China relations and the CPEC. He hoped that the two countries will make joint effort to carry forward the common cause of Pakistan-China friendship.

Prior to the meeting, President Dr. Arif Alvi held a ceremony at the presidential palace to confer the award of "Hilal-e-Pakistan" to Ambassador Yao Jing. Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani, Speaker of National Assembly Asad Qaiser, a number of ministers and other dignitaries attended the ceremony.
