Ambassador Yao Jing paid a farewell call on Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi

On 21 September, the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing paid a farewell call on Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi. The two sides exchanged views on bilateral relations and international and regional issues of common interest. Ms. Pang Chunxue, Minister Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy, and Mr. Mudassir Tipu, Director General of China Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan attended the meeting.

Foreign Minister Qureshi spoke highly on the development of China-Pakistan relations and the coordination and cooperation between the two countries on major international and regional issues in the past three years, saying that under the guidance of the leaders of the two countries, China-Pakistan relations, especially the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, has made remarkable progress, and the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership of the two countries was further strengthened. Pakistan regards China as its most reliable friend and partner. Pakistan supports China’s active role in international and regional affairs, its advocacy of multilateralism and its commitment to win-win cooperation. Pakistan will continue to firmly support China on issues related to its core interests and jointly promote world peace, stability and development.

Yao appreciated the firm support given and positive efforts made by the Foreign Minister and the Foreign Ministry of Pakistan for China-Pakistan relations, and pointed out that China attaches great importance to China-Pakistan relations, cherishes China-Pakistan friendship, and is committed to further strengthen cooperation with Pakistan in various fields, especially the CPEC construction, and to contribute to Pakistan’s development. Both China and Pakistan are committed to regional peace, stability and connectivity, and China-Pakistan cooperation can also play a role in the common prosperity of the region.

Recently, Ambassador Yao Jing also bid farewell to the Cabinet members looking after Planning, Finance, Investment, Agriculture, Information, Commerce, Maritime affairs and Railways, and discussed cooperation in related fields.
