Ambassador Yao Jing paid a farewell call on Prime Minister Imran Khan

On 21 September, the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing paid a farewell call on Prime Minister Imran Khan. Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmood and others were present.

Yao thanked Prime Minister Imran Khan and the Pakistan government for the great importance they attach to China-Pakistan relations and their strong support for the work of the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan. Yao said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran, Pakistan has achieved positive progress in various undertakings. China appreciates the people-centered governing philosophy of the Pakistan government, and is ready to work with Pakistan to conscientiously implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, push China-Pakistan relations to a new level, realize the high-quality development of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and build a Closer Community of China-Pakistan Shared Future in the New Era.

Prime Minister Imran Khan spoke highly of China-Pakistan all-weather strategic cooperative partnership and appreciated China's strong support for the economic and social development of Pakistan, especially in its fighting against COVID-19. He further said Pakistan's future is closely linked to that of China, and that friendship with China is a cross-party and cross-board consensus in Pakistan. Pakistan will unswervingly promote the construction of the CPEC, learn from China's development experience in areas such as poverty alleviation and agriculture, deepen friendly exchanges and cooperation with China in various fields, and better benefit the two countries and their people.
