2007-04-12

ISLAMABAD, April 10 (Xinhua) -- Pakistani President General Pervez Musharraf said here Tuesday that he welcomed more Chinese enterprises to start business in the South Asian country.

Receiving credentials presented by new Chinese Ambassador Luo Zhaohui at the presidential palace, Musharraf said that Pakistan attached great importance to the all-weather Pak-China friendship and extended thanks to China for its longstanding assistance and support for Pakistan's economic, social and defense development.

Musharraf said that the Pakistani government had provided Chinese enterprises with special preferential measures in order to deepen the mutual-benefit cooperation and strengthen the traditional friendship between the two countries. What's more, Pakistan has advantages of its cheap labor and market access policies, he added.

Luo said that China and Pakistan had enjoyed all-weather friendship and all-dimension cooperation for a long time.

He said that China would continue, as it has always done, its cooperation with Pakistan in economy, politics, people-to-people exchanges, and world and regional affairs.

Luo arrived in Islamabad on March 5 as the new Chinese ambassador to Pakistan.

Deputy chief of the Chinese embassy Mao Siwei and military attach major general Li Mengyan attended the presentation.
