On April 10, H. E. Mr. Luo Zhaohui, the newly appointed Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, presented credentials to President Pervez Musharraf at the President House in Islamabad. In the wake of the ceremony, President Musharraf held a cordial talk with Ambassador Luo. Musharraf said that Pakistan attached great importance to the all-weather Pak-China friendship and expressed his thanks to China for its longstanding assistance and support for Pakistan's economic, social and defense development. Musharraf also said that the Pakistani government had provided Chinese enterprises with special preferential measures in order to deepen the mutual-benefit cooperation and strengthen the traditional friendship between the two countries. What's more, Pakistan had advantages of cheap labor and market-oriented policies. Pakistan welcomed more Chinese enterprises, including those from private sections, to invest and trade in Pakistan, and expected more frequent personnel exchanges, he added. Ambassador Luo said that China and Pakistan had enjoyed all-weather friendship and all-dimension cooperation for a long time; to strengthen China-Pak relations was an important link of China's foreign policy and China would continue, as it always had done, its cooperation with Pakistan in economy, politics, people-to-people exchanges, and world and regional affairs. Ambassador Luo arrived in Islamabad on March 5 as the new Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan. |
