| Chinese President visits Pakistan medical mission in China |

ISLAMABAD, Jun 1 (APP): President of China Hu Jintao on Sunday visited Pakistan Medical Mission in Longnan, which reached China to help the victims of May 12 earthquake. According to a press release, President of China Hu Jintao welcomed the efforts of Pakistani medical mission in helping the sufferers of earthquake. He appreciated and thanked the gesture of Pakistan government in this regard. He met with the doctors of Pakistan medical mission and appreciated their professionalism in carrying out their duties. Head of the mission, Dr. Habib thanked President for his kind remarks and said that it was our duty to help Chinese brothers and sisters in this hour of need as they did to us in Pakistani earthquake of 2005. The mission comprises 28 doctors and paramedics departed from Pakistan for China on May 27, with eight tons of medicines and other equipment and is likely to stay in China for four weeks initially. Since the May 12 earthquake in China, Pakistan has contributed over 21000 tents, mineral water, plastic mats and other relief items. All these relief dispatches were made by National Disaster Management Authority on the instructions of Federal Government. |
