Pakistan, China vow to eliminate terrorism

BEIJING, Aug 11 (APP): Pakistan and China have agreed to coordinate and help closely with each other in fight against terrorism. The consensus to this effect was reached when Adviser on Interior Affairs Rehman Malik held a detailed meeting with  his Chinese counterpart and State Counsellor Mr. Meng Jianzhu here on Monday.

"Pakistan would not (not) compromise on fighting terrorism," Malik emphasized and said, "we suffered greatly because  terrorists even made target to our great leader Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto".

He pointed out that Pakistan is playing a front line state role in fight against terrorism, adding, "we would not allow the menace of terrorism to spur on our soil".

Terrorism, he said, has consequences on various spheres of life including adverse impact on economic activities.

The Adviser on the occasion, briefed  Meng about the 3-pronged strategy his country has adopted to stem out terrorism.

He informed Meng, who is also the Minister for Public Security, that China is our most trusted friend and Pakistan would continue to cooperate  with its close neighbouring ally to eliminate the curse of terrorism that has no boundaries.

The Adviser expressed condolences for those who lost their lives in recent explosions in China.

Adviser Rehman Malik who is also member of the PPP Executive Committee told his counterpart that it was the founding Chairman of his party Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto who laid the solid foundation of Pak-China friendship and Shaheed Mohteram Benazir Bhutto gave further boost and strengh to these ties.

He said that the Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is determined to consolidate and steer these ties to a new heights.

Adviser on Interior said that  Pak-China bilateral relations have  entered into third generation, following visit by Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto here at the invitation of Communist Party of China.

He extended his heartiest greetings to Minister Meng on holding splendid opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics on August 8 and on the foolproof security measures adopted for the 29th Olympiad.
