President Zardari Calls for Chinese Investment in Mobile Communication

GUANGZHOU, China Aug 24 (APP): President Asif Ali Zardari said on   Monday that Pakistan’s mobile communication sector has registered one of world’s fastest growth and urged the Chinese telecommunication and mobile companies to take full advantage from it. In a meeting with Executive Vice President of Zhong Xing Telecommunication Equipment (ZTE) Company, Shi Lirong here at his hotel, he said the company is already operating in Pakistan and  can enhance its investment and increase its share in the huge market there.

The President said there is a huge demand of mobiles for the growing users in Pakistan which provides the Chinese companies a great opportunity to introduce their latest products.

He said with ideal investment climate and guarantee for security to their investment, it was an appropriate time for ZTE to expand its business in Pakistan.

Zhong Xing said that his company was proud that it is contributing to Pakistan’s economy and said that they will take advantage of the telecommunication market there.

In a separate meeting with President of China Huanqiu Contracting and Engineering Corporation, Wang Shihong the President said heavy industry in Guangdong is the backbone of the economic development of province.

He informed Shihong of the incentives that government of Pakistan is offering to foreign investors.

In another meeting with President of Dongfang Electric Corporation Si Zefu, the President discussed matters of bilateral cooperation and the prospects of manufacturing of electrical appliances in Pakistan by Chinese companies.

Later a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the ZTE and Pakistan’s National Telecommunication Corporation (NTC).

Another MoU was signed on cooperation on marine fisheries and related technologies between the Department of Fisheries, Government of Sindh and South China Sea Fisheries Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences.

President Asif Ali Zardari was present during the signing of these MoUs.
