BEIJING, Aug 28 (APP): Pakistani cultural troupe who took part in the 11th Asian Arts Festival in Ordos, Inner Mongolia mesmerized the audience with their outstanding performances.“In all we carried out eight performances during our August 16-26 stay” the Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Culture Abdul Sattar Khokhar told APP here Friday. The Pakistani Cultural troupe also participated in the opening ceremony of the 11thedition of the Asian Arts Festival, he said. The cultural dances, Khokhar said of various regions from Pakistan were greatly got admiration from the audiences. “We have performed along with cultural troupes belonging to countries of North Korea and Mongolia in 5 cities of Inner Mongolia”, Khokhar said. Traditional dances from Baltistan, Cholistan, Punjabi Bhangra dance on the beat of Drums enthralled the cultural loving people. Besides, cultural troupe, the Federal Minister Azam Khan Swati also led a delegation to represent Pakistan at the ministerial level meeting. Khokhar said that on the occasion an agreement on Cultural Exchange Programme was also signed between the two countries effective from next year after expiry of the existing pact. The agreement covers areas of culture, education, information and promotion of tourism. Cultural ministers from 17 Asian countries on the occasion vowed to step up efforts to boost cultural development in the wake of global economic downturn. Organized by the Chinese Ministry of Culture and the government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the nine-day festival featured a series of cultural activities exhibiting the diversity of Asian cultures and cementing cultural links in the region. The Pakistani troupe is scheduled to leave here for home on Friday evening. |
