Makhdoom for Expanding Bilateral Trade with China

KARACHI, Sep 2 (APP): Commerce Minister Makhdoom Amin Fahim has underlined the need for expanding bilateral trade and regional cooperation between Pakistan and China.He was talking to senior government officials of China upon his arrival in Beijing to attend Central West and South Asia Trade Cooperation Forum. More than 200 government and private sector delegations will attend the meeting.

According to information reaching here Wednesday, the minister said that Shengen province can serve as the trade corridor for both the countries.

Makhdoom said that Pakistan was ready to offer the energy and trade corridor to China via Karakoram to Karchi and Gwadar ports.

Chinese government has accorded the status of state guest to the minister who will represent Pakistan at the forum meeting in Shanghai.

Condemning the loss of precious lives in the tragic incident of Urumqi on July 5, the minister assured the Chinese government of the fullest support of Pakistani government and the people in the promotion of brotherhood and tolerance among various schools of thoughts.

He will also hold trade talks with the Governor of Shengen.
