Fauzia Gilani Visits Armed Police Forces' Hospital; Meets Chinese Women Entrepreneurs

BEIJING, Oct 14 (APP): First lady Mrs. Fauzia Yusuf Raza Gilani visited the General Hospital of the Chinese People’s Armed Police Forces here on Wednesday. The hospital was established by the China International Medical Rescue Team in 2003 that has catered to medical assignments in Algeria, Iran, Indonesia and Pakistan.

First lady lauded the contributions rendered by this hospital in the devastating earthquake that hit Pakistan in 2005.

She encouraged the cooperation linkages between this hospital and various medical institutions of Pakistan.

Later, she visited the kids that underwent cardiac surgery and gave  away gifts to them.

An exhibition was also arranged in her honour in respect of the memoirs of the rescue team’s work in Pakistan.

Her visit was appreciated dearly to strengthen the cooperation already built amongst both nations in the field of medicine.

Later in the day, a group of Chinese women entrepreneurs called on the first lady. Businesswomen from various fields were present in the meeting.

They apprised the first lady of their respective backgrounds and nature of their work.

First lady urged the need to establish and maintain a friendly liaison between Chinese and Pakistani women entrepreneurs.

She invited the business women to Pakistan and promised to send a delegation of women entrepreneurs to China to learn from the valuable and rich experiences of all these senior Chinese business women.

During the meeting the first lady dilated upon the government of Pakistan’s efforts to facilitate women entrepreneurs especially after the financial crunch that hit the whole world. Micro credit schemes have been established to facilitate the women who want to run their own business, she added.
