| Pakistan Study Center launched at Shanghai Fudan University |

SHANGHAI, OCT 26 (APP): Ambassador Masood Khan of Pakistan and Professor Wang Weiping, Vice President of Fudan University jointly launched Pakistan Study Center at Fudan University by unveiling a plaque here Monday. Peking, Tsinghua, and Sichuan Universities already house Pakistan Study Centers. The center at Fudan University would be the fourth Pakistan Study Center in China. After the unveiling ceremony, Ambassador Masood Khan addressed a gathering of 50 researches and students studying at Fudan University. Ambassador Masood Khan said that the unique and strong relationship between Pakistan and China was a factor of peace and stability in the region and beyond. He said that both countries have contributed greatly to promotion of stability in South-East Asia. “This model relationship and the spirit must be replicated”, he said. During an extended question and answer session, Ambassador Khan emphatically said: “Pakistan’s relationship with any other country, however, close will not adversely impact its relationship with China. The Pakistani Ambassador welcomed China’s constructive and conciliatory role in bridging the differences between Pakistan and India following the Mumbai terrorist attacks. The launching ceremony of the Pakistan Study Center was also attended by Zafar Hasan, Consul General of Pakistan in Shanghai, Commodore Mahmood Ur Rehman, Chief Naval Overseer and Vice Consul Mahmood Akhtar Mahmood.
