| China vows to continue support Pakistan |

BEIJING, Oct 27 (APP): China Tuesday reiterated its commitment to continue support Pakistan for its development. The assurance was given to Deputy Chairman Senate Mir Jan Muhammad Khan Jamali during a meeting with Mr. Jia Qinglin, the Chairman of China People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) here at the Great Hall of the People. The Deputy Chairman of Senate Mir Jan Muhammad Khan Jamali arrived here Monday at the head of a bipartisan Senate delegation at the invitation of the Religious and Ethnic Affairs Committee of CPPCC. Mir Jamali talking to APP after meeting said that the high-level exchanges of delegations including parliamentarian and youths help further cement the existing bonds of friendship between Pakistan and China. Mir Jamali said that Pakistan greatly values its times tested all weather friendship with our great friend and neighbor China. He said that visits of President Asif Ali Zardari after every three months and Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani recent visit here to attend the SCO heads of the government meeting and talks with Chinese top leadership further consolidated these ties. He said that Mr. Jia Qinglin has assured him that China would continue to participate in the development work including infrastructure work and said that the existing strengthen of ten thousand Chinese workers in Pakistan would further enhance with taking up more projects. On the occasion the Chairman CPPCC recalled his memorable visit to Pakistan in 2005. Mir Jamali said that the Chairman CPPCC termed as very constructive the Chairman Senate Farooq H. Naik visit to China and invited him once again. The Deputy Chairman Senate also invited Mr. Jia Qinglin to visit his country at the convenient date. The delegation includes Senators Mohammad Ibrahim Khan, Gul Naseeb Khan, Maula Bux Chandio, Saleh Shah, Mohammad Idrees Khan Safi and Ms. Fauzia Fakhar-uz-Zaman. Earlier on arrival here Abdulahat Abdulrixit, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the CPPCC held a meeting with the Pakistan Senate delegation. Speaking on the occasion the Deputy Chairman Senate said that China was Pakistan’s most trusted friend and the relationship between the two countries was all-weather and evergreen. He congratulated the Chinese government and people on the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and 30th anniversary of the economic reform. He said that the people of Pakistan took pride in China’s phenomenal economic growth and wanted to enhance cooperation with China in all areas of mutual interest. The Deputy Chairman Senate briefed Vice Chairman Mr. Abdulrixit on internal developments in Pakistan with particular reference to its politics, economy and fight against terrorism. Mir Jan Jamali underlined that the Government, Armed Forces and people of Pakistan was committed to eliminating extremism and terrorism from Pakistan. He on the occasion thanked the Chinese government for its full support and understanding to Pakistan on this important issue. Mir Jamali said that Pakistan applauded China’s efforts to maintain ethnic harmony, national unity and territorial integrity. Pakistan fully supported China’s policies and actions aimed at promoting ethnic harmony, social stability and economic development in Xinjiang. The Deputy Chairman Senate emphasized that the parliamentarians of the two countries should establish close links to further promote people to people contact between the two friendly countries. Vice Chairman Abdulrixit said that Pakistan was China’s close neighbour, good partner, old friend and dear brother. Earlier Deputy Chairman Senate also held a meeting with Mr. Chen Guangwen Vice Chairman of the Ethnic and Religious Affairs Committee of the CPPCC. |
